Cape Elizabeth Garden Tour

Join the Friends of Fort Williams for the 10th annual Cape Elizabeth Garden Tour, featuring beautiful gardens with ocean views, backyard wildlife habitat, native plants, woodlands, raised beds, stone work, historic homes, and more! The event is self guided, with maps and a program available at registration on the morning of the tour. Tickets are $30, with proceeds benefitting the Friends of Fort Williams Park, a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose Ecology Project controls damaging invasive plants and nurtures sustainable plant communities. The Maine Outdoor Film Festival Flagship Portland Festival

An international festival of outdoor adventure and conservation films, MOFF is held each summer in Portland, Maine. Several worldwide, U.S. and New England premieres are included in this year’s 16 hour pool of films.
Each of MOFF’s two-hour blocks of short films will screen outdoors at the Eastern Promenade in Portland (on the nice grass at the end of Montreal Street).
Doors open at 6:30 and each film program will run from 8pm to 10pm.
Bring your own camp chair and/or blanket. Outside picnic lunches/refreshments are allowed. There are generally many food trucks parked along the Eastern Promenade.

Cross for LifeFlight

LifeFlight’s annual fundraiser is a remote event where participants “cross” their favorite part of Maine by swimming, paddling, hiking, biking, running, sailing, rowing and more. This unique event aims to connect the corners of Maine with hundreds of individual “crossings” much like LifeFlight connects patients from all over the state to the critical care they need. This unique statewide event has raised more than $1.8 million to help LifeFlight carry out its lifesaving mission. The breathtaking waters, mountains and trails of Maine are legendary… find your favorite place, or a new one, and make your crossing epic!

Light, Sky, land, and Edges: A Collaboration Between Painter and Poet

Join us for this reception in honor of our fall exhibit, “Light, Sky, Land, and Edges: A Collaboration Between Painter and Poet.” which runs through October 31.

Long-time friends Tracy Baker-White and Martha Andrews Donovan combined their creative powers to create the paintings and poetry on display during this very special exhibition. These works were inspired by the landscapes of Mount Desert Island. Join us to meet its creators and enjoy their work. No charge, but reservations required.

STITCH – Maine Designers on the Runway. A Fashion Fundraiser benefiting the Maine Crafts Association.

Come watch Maine designs strut down an outdoor runway on Thursday, September 9 when Maine Crafts Association hosts their annual STITCH fashion fundraiser show at Urban Farms Fermentory 200 Anderson St.

5-8pm: Ticketed Runway Fashion Show Event: $50

Welcome Back: 2021-22 Season Preview

Celebrate with us at Merrill Auditorium for the launch of Portland Ovations’ highly anticipated 2021-2022 season. With an exciting array of performances from around the globe already announced — we still have many more to share.

Free to all, the event welcomes back our Members and audiences with an evening of videos highlighting more from our upcoming season. We can’t wait to be back together in person when we return to our stages for our 90th year of Ovations.

Do you have a question you’ve always wanted to ask about Ovations? Ask it! We will finish our time together with a brief Q&A.

Tickets will be available to Members immediately following the event, and available to the public on September 23.

Books In Boothbay

Books in Boothbay

Books in Boothbay is the largest single-day literary event in Maine. This free, family-friendly fair brings together Maine authors and book lovers of all ages for an annual celebration at the Boothbay Harbor Railway Village Museum. With an ever-changing lineup of more than 30 writers spanning all genres, authors showcase their most recent publications, meet fans, and sign books.

Proceeds from on-site book sales are shared between Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library and the Boothbay Harbor Railway Village Museum.

Admission to Books in Boothbay is always free, and there is something for everyone!
