Stay the Night

It’s a rare weekend when every Maine magazine staffer is snoozing at home. From 48 Hours excursions to story scouting, we spend much of our time exploring the state. We roam far and wide, driving down dirt roads and cruising scenic coastal byways, all the while staying in great resorts, world-class hotels, stately inns, cute cottages, and rustic rentals. Time and again, we are reminded that hospitality in Maine is an art. We are lucky to live in a place where the phrase make yourself at home really means something. From the southern shore to the northern mountains, here are 71 of our favorite places to book a room and stay the night. Vacationland, indeed.
