The Farnsworth Art Museum Collective Bash

Featuring a pop-up art environment, Boston’s Jittery Jack and Miss Amy will perform live in an old high school gym. Our pals at Rollie’s will provide the punch (and a cash bar), we’ll provide the corsages. Sure to sell out, so get your tickets early. Don’t forget to brush up on your jitterbug! Come wearing your finest cummerbund, slickest crinoline or as you are.

We all know that Tourism is big business in Maine. Visit Portland’s ongoing advocacy and education efforts ensure that policy makers and local residents are aware of the impact that tourism has on the economic and social prosperity for our region.

Show & Tell: A Literary Spectacular

Show & Tell, being held at the State Theatre, replaces our beloved Glitterati as our primary fundraiser in support of our free writing programs for Maine youth. The 90-minute literary cabaret will showcase stories across mediums from a variety of storytellers including writer Andre Dubus III, singer-songwriter Josh Ritter,  novelist Paula McClain, and local teen poet Zainab Almatwari. Humorist John Hodgman and hip-hop artist Jean Grae will emcee the evening.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain returns to Ovations after their delightful 2014 debut. Pairing dry humor and irreverence with inventive interpretations of classics—ranging from Tchaikovsky to Nirvana via Otis Redding and Spaghetti Western soundtracks.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain returns to Ovations after their delightful 2014 debut with their brand new “Heresy II Heritage” Tour. Poking fun at the stiff upper lip of the ensemble’s British roots, it will include music from their recent studio album “By Request: Songs from the Setlist” – a selection of fan favorites including the Beverly Hillbillies theme and ACDC’s “Highway to Hell.”
