Kennebunk’s Music on Main

Join Music on Main as they host their annual free concert at the Waterhouse Center engaging local families and visitors, and enriching their community through music. The Portland Symphony Orchestra is pleased to return to Kennebunk!

Walking Tour in Camden, Maine

The Camden Public Library and the Camden Downtown Business Group host free walking tours of downtown Camden every Friday at 4:00 pm from June 30 to September 8th. The tours begin at the Children’s Garden of the Camden Public Library on Atlantic Avenue and end at the Opera House. Take the entire tour or just show up at the Opera House front doors at 4:45 for a behind the scenes look at our beautiful restored interior and fun facts including a five minute historic slide show!

Venticordi Chamber Music

London and Vienna are famous musical centers, and now Portland, Maine joins the list with Dan Sonnenberg. Works of Haydn, Mozart, Hindemtih and Etler round out your musical journey. Also joining is talented student oboist Shelby Heiman of Arundel. This is the second of two shows for “Cities of Sound”.

Suzanne Vega

Suzanne Vega was born in Santa Monica, CA, but grew up in Spanish Harlem and the Upper West Side of New York City. She was influenced by her mother, a computer systems analyst and her stepfather, the Puerto Rican writer Egardo Vega Yunque. There was a heady mix of multicultural music playing at home: Motown, bossa nova, jazz and folk.

Happy Days Are Here Again

“Happy Days Are Here Again – Streisand’s 60s Songbook” is an original musical revue featuring Streisand’s early hits including songs from her nightclub appearances, television specials, Broadway appearances, recordings and movies. Three artists, Lesley McKinnell (the singer), Victoria Stubbs (the pianist) and Brian P. Allen (the narrator) take you on a musical journey through the early career of one of the most successful artists of all time. It’s dishy and delectable fun!

Maine Coast Stone Symposium

Join the Boothbay Railway Village for a month-long celebration of the history, art and culture of Maine’s stone industry. Look for educational programs, the exhibit Built with Stone: The Story of Granite, Slate, and Limestone in Maine, and a 10-day sculpture symposium investigating the ties between technology, industry and the creative world.
