Salt Bay Chamberfest’s 23rd season, Move Me!, is about movement and music. Music has the power to move us emotionally, in the deepest and most profound ways. The Camden Opera House in partnership with Maine Public and with the support of the Goodridge family will present for the fourth year in a row the PBS documentary “The Seal Who Came Home”. This heartwarming and unusual documentary depicts Andre’s 25 years spent living in Rockport with the Goodridge family The past two year’s showing was a community gathering and special evening. If you missed it, this is your chance! OR do as most of us do – come for the 2nd, or 3rd time to immerse yourself in this humorous and heartwarming community story.

If you’re looking to meet new sailing friends or want to introduce a friend to the joys of sailing, Friday Night Social Sailing at SailMaine is for you! All experience levels are welcome to go for a sail on a J/22. Friday Night Social Sails are a great way to get out on Casco Bay and meet other members of the Portland community. Well-Strung stars first violinist Edmund Bagnell, second violinist Christopher Marchant, cellist Daniel Shevlin and violist Trevor Wadleigh. The quartet features classical musicians who sing putting their own spin on the music of Mozart, Beethoven, Pink, Lorde, Madonna, Gotye, U2, and more.

The Camden Public Library and the Camden Downtown Business Group host free walking tours of downtown Camden every Friday at 4:00 pm from June 30 to September 8th. The tours begin at the Children’s Garden of the Camden Public Library on Atlantic Avenue and end at the Opera House. Take the entire tour or just show up at the Opera House front doors at 4:45 for a behind the scenes look at our beautiful restored interior and fun facts including a five minute historic slide show!

Maine native & US pioneer pianist & singer-songwriter Kate Schrock teams up with longtime musical collaborator, legendary Glen DaCosta (saxophonist for Bob Marley & the Wailers) for an evening of transcendent soulful original music inspired by the melding of cultures & styles, unified by hearts-in-the-right-places & a penchant for impromptu humorous stories with a lot of dynamic improv.

Inspired by the preeminent, international swimrun race series OTILLO (“island to island), originating in Sweden in 2006, two multisport veterans looking for the next adventure are pleased to once again present in 2017 the ONLY “OTILLO- style” swimrun event in North America. Consisting of multiple, alternating swim and overland running legs (island roads, trails, and shoreline scrambles) between several islands in Portland, Maine.
