Claire Messud in Conversation with Richard Russo

New York Times best-selling novelist Claire Messud joins Pulitzer-Prize winning author Richard Russo for a lively conversation about books, writing and all things literary. Messud is the award-winning author of The Emperor’s Children, The Woman Upstairs, and The Burning Girl. The LA Times calls her “an absolute master story teller.” Russo is the author of more than a dozen books, including The Risk PoolMohawkNobody’s FoolEverybody’s FoolThat Old Cape Magic, Bridge of Sighs, Elsewhere, Trajectory and the Pulitzer-Prize winning novel Empire Falls.

DanceMaineia

DanceMaineia is based in Waldoboro and Damariscotta, Maine. Dancers ages 3 to sixty-something will perform pieces in classical ballet, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary styles. Tickets available at Nobleboro Central School Friday, April 27th from 4:00-9:00pm, and at the door day of the performance. Adults $15, seniors and children under 12 $12.00.

The Shipyard Maine Coast Half features stunning views of the Gulf of Maine, including meandering salt marshes, tranquil tidal pools, white-sand beaches, and waves crashing against ancient boulders.

Half: May 12 at 8am

The Magical History Tour is your key to unlocking fascinating historical places around Portland that are not usually open to the public. The Magical History Tour is a self-guided adventure guaranteed to amaze and amuse both adults and children. Equipped with a map, and at your own pace, you will be greeted by guides at each location ready to share the history of the tour stop.

The Shipyard Maine Coast Half and Full Marathon

The Shipyard Maine Coast Half & Full Marathon is returning to Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, and Biddeford on Saturday, May 12th and Sunday, May 13th for another weekend of running along Maine’s beautifully rugged coastline. Join thousands of runners and spectators at one of Maine’s most scenic road races where you celebrate your finish with a huge party featuring craft beer from Shipyard, delicious food, and live music!
