Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital’s Open Golf Tournament

The annual BBCH Open Golf Tournament will take place on Thursday, September 13th, 2018 at Boothbay Harbor Country Club, Prouts Neck Country Club, and the Woodlands Club to support Maine’s only children’s hospital. Last year’s tournament sold out – we had 95 teams participate! We look forward to seeing you in September for a great day on the course!

Camden International Film Festival

Since its founding in 2005, the Camden International Film Festival (CIFF) has risen to prominence as one of the world’s most respected documentary festivals.

Taking place each fall along the beautiful coast of Maine, CIFF champions innovative work that explores the boundaries of nonfiction storytelling through a carefully curated collection of films from around the world.

With hundreds of filmmakers and industry professionals attending annually, CIFF has become a major platform for the discovery of new artists and the creative exploration of the documentary form. The festival is an Academy-qualifying festival for the Documentary Short Subject Award, and one of 14 qualifying festivals for the Cinema Eye Honors.

Maine Huts and Trails’ Harvest at the Hut

Explore the best of Maine’s local cuisine at Stratton Brook Hut; a special farm-to-hut harvest event. With a talented local chef preparing farm fresh ingredients, this is a dining experience you won’t want to miss. Hike or bike to Stratton Brook Hut anytime after 11am on Saturday- dinner will be served at 6pm.

Due to being a multi-course dinner with a pre-set menu, dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated.

Punkinfiddle is a family festival and National Estuaries Day celebration.

With Punkinfiddle, our aim is to foster stewardship of coastal environments by celebrating the richness of estuaries, Maine’s cultural traditions, and our beautiful historic site.

The Dempsey Challenge

The Dempsey Challenge presented by Amgen is a two-day, non-competitive run, walk, cycle fundraiser which champions the spirit of celebration and culture of paying it forward, all hosted in actor Patrick Dempsey’s hometown of Lewiston, Maine. Every dollar raised by Challenge participants benefits the Dempsey Centers — leaders in Quality of Life care for individuals and families impacted by cancer.

GrowSmart Maine Annual Summit: The Power Of Localism: Tapping Into a Maine Tradition

Maine’s premier smart growth conference offers inspiration, resources and networking opportunities and this year we’ve created a program coupling national leaders with Maine successes, gubernatorial candidates and Maine’s first Smart Growth Awards. Plenary and breakout sessions addressing Maine’s rural economy are followed by Bangor Experience tours and workshops throughout our host city. Light breakfast, lunch and reception food & drink included.

Spurwink Humantarian Awards

On Friday, October 12th, Spurwink will celebrate and honor those who have shown a commitment to Spurwink’s mission – going the distance for those in need – at the 32nd annual Humanitarian Awards. This year, our focus will be on the work being done in by Spurwink’s statewide Outpatient and Community Services, including case management, outpatient therapy, public school counseling, foster care placement, therapeutic care for refugee and immigrant children and families, and more.

American Cancer Society Strides Against Breast Cancer

Every three-five mile Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, and raise awareness about steps we can take to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer.

NRCM’s Annual Conservation Leadership Awards

Please join us Wednesday, October 17, for NRCM’s 2018 Conservation Leadership Awards. This special event will take place at the First Universalist Church, 97 Main Street, in Yarmouth from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The First Universalist Church of Yarmouth is wheelchair accessible. There is parking on site.

NRCM’s Conservation Leadership Awards presentation is open to NRCM members and friends. Join us at 5:30 p.m. for wine, hors d’oeuvres, and conversation with this year’s award winners. We will begin the presentation at approximately 6:15.
