Seth Benz, director of the Schoodic Bird Ecology Lab, will lead bird walks on Thursday mornings in May from the Wendell Gilley Museum. Group size is limited to 10 people and all ages are welcome. Host Committee members will be listed on all email promotions and signage, plus they will receive a special exclusive gift from renowned designer and MECA Textile & Fashion Department faculty member Jill McGowan. All funds raised will benefit MECA student scholarships.

Kerem & Andy’s project, SoulRoar, is a musical theater project telling the epic story of two immigrants, one first generation and one second, who find themselves in the U.S. and over the course of lives lived make it their home. It is a story of finding love and self-identity in the midst of turbulence, joy, and revelation: of separation and loss and of the frustrations of confronting societal hurdles of ignorance and hate.

The City of Vancouver, Canada has been ranked as one of the greenest cities in the world, a youthful city, and a city of Reconciliation that has adopted the UN Declaration for the Rights of Indigenous People. Women have played a pivotal role in governing and transforming Vancouver by fostering collaborative action, educating and holding space for youth voices and action, and redefining what it means to be a city on unceded indigenous land. In this interactive session we will meet some of these women and learn how they are building enduring change by advancing intersectionality, equity, justice and civic resilience.
