Now that we have turned the corner into spring, do you find yourself constantly looking out the window, longing to be outside? You aren’t alone. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and the trees are budding. With some April showers in the forecast this week it looks like a fresh wave of mud may be on the horizon, so enjoy the nice weather while you can. Here’s our roundup for this weekend in Maine:

Something to Do:

Somewhere to Go:

Are you still clinging to the last vestiges of winter? Find some company for your misery this weekend at Sugarloaf’s 34th annual Reggae Fest, presented by Baxter Outdoors! Enjoy the last scraps of spring skiing during the day and then tear it up to live reggae bands (such as Green Lion Crew and Gorilla Finger Dub) at various venues around the resort each afternoon and night.

Something to Eat:

Craving a smoothie bowl? If you’re in Portland this weekend you’re in luck! This Friday Bay Bowls, a smoothie and acai bowl shop in Brunswick, is opening its second location on Washington Avenue in Portland. Order the classic Bay Bowl with acai, granola, banana, strawberry, pineapple, coconut flakes, and honey, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, get the aptly named FOMO, which includes acai, pitaya, granola, banana, pineapple, mango, strawberry, blueberry, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, chia seeds, honey, peanut butter, and nutella. Bon appetit!

Enjoy beer from over 35 participating breweries (including Allagash and Austin Street), all of which are either owned by women or femme-identifying people or have women or femme-identifying people in leadership positions. Choose between general admission or VIP tickets for the tasting sessions, which start at noon and 6 p.m. Celebrate growing diversity in the beer industry while you enjoy unlimited beer sampling!
