Portland Stage Company: Shakespeare Youth Conservatory

Middle school students delve into the wild and wacky world of the Bard. Participants will investigate aspects of the stories of Shakespeare’s exciting plays, including: the powerful world of his magical creatures, the majesty of his kings, the zaniness of his clowns, and how relevant these stories still are today!

The Wiyos (Michael Farkas, Teddy Weber and “Sauerkraut” Seth Travins) play and compose Old-Timey American music inspired by the early American musical styles of the 1920s and ’30s, exhuberantly mixing together Vaudevillian, Ragtime, Jugband, Blues, and Hillbilly Swing!
