Perched above Rockport harbor, 18 Central is just two years old, but the comfortable space feels like it’s been there forever, with worn wooden floors, a stamped tin ceiling, and schoolhouse pendant lights. Much of chef-owner Patrick Duffy’s menu is prepared on a wood-grill in the open kitchen, including tomatoes for the cocktail sauce offered with selections from the raw bar. An exception is the excellent fried chicken, served with collard greens and grits.
